Welcome to Steward of the Month™

We are Grace Lutheran Church located in Mastic Beach, NY. During the winter months, we host a homeless outreach to a neighboring community through a program named Maureen's Haven Homeless outreach.

Maureen's Haven and many churches work together, to provide a warm overnight stay with meals and fellowship to folks in need. Grace Lutheran Church has been partnering with Maureen's Haven for two seasons. We are pleased to provide much needed shelter for the men and women.

Once a month, we will house up to ten men or women in our church overnight. Our volunteers prepare a hot meal, beverage and dessert. Our overnight hosts provide entertainment in the form of board games, Christian movies or conversation. In the morning, our guests are served breakfast and are given a lunch to go provided by a local family, willing to provide community service for our area. The guests are either picked up by Maureen's Haven or given bus passes to head back to their destinations.

Grace Lutheran Church has truly enjoyed helping to provide dignity, love and respect to folks in great need of knowing the love of Christ. We would encourage others to get involved in their community outreach programs.
